Little Portion is a place where you can be yourself,
and open yourself to God. We are committed to helping people find their
way to a joyous spirituality. We support your journey by offering our
home as a place for meetings and workshops. We offer the labyrinth as
a meditation tool to help you be in touch with the understanding and experience
you carry in your heart. Whether you come to pray with the brothers, buy
bread, walk the labyrinth, attend a retreat, Day of Reflection, walk in
the woods or use the Friary as a meeting or workshop space we hope you
catch a glimpse of serenity and God's love for you. We wish you much peace
and all good as you explore the frontiers of the spiritual life.

Praise and prayer constitute the atmosphere in which the brothers strive to live. The endeavor to maintain a constant recollection of the Presence of God and of the unseen world. The Holy Eucharist is the center round which their life revolves. ~ The Principles of the First Order
The Bakery
The
Brothers have been baking bread on Friday morning for over 25 years. They
bake white bread, whole wheat bread and cinnamon-raisin bread. The bread
is ready for sale Friday at 10:00 a.m. until sold out.
Directions
to Little Portion Friary
Little Portion Friary is located about 60 miles east of New York City
on the north shore of Long Island. We are only minutes from the beach
and local shopping. Our address is 48 Old Post Road. (Some maps give the
street name as BayView.)
From the south shore of Long Island points East and West: Take Exit 63 North (No. Ocean Ave./Route 83) from the Long Island Expressway (US 495). Continue on Route 83 (approximately 9 miles) until you reach the intersection of Route 25A and Route 83. Turn left onto 25A and at the first light, turn right onto Mt.Sinai-Coram Road. Continue straight at the light at the next intersection (Mt.Sinai-Coram Rd. and North Country Rd.) to the STOP sign. Turn right at the STOP sign and then turn left at the first street, this is Old Post Road. Continue on Old Post Road up the hill to #48 on your left at the top of the hill.
From the north shore of Long Island points East and West: Take Route 25A or 347 to Mt.Sinai-Coram Road, in Mt. Sinai. Turn NORTH onto Mt.Sinai-Coram Rd and continue straight at the light at the next intersection (Mt.Sinai-Coram Rd. and North Country Rd.) to the STOP sign. Turn right at the STOP sign onto Shore Road and then turn left at the first street, this is Old Post Road. Continue on Old Post Road up the hill to #48 on your left at the top of the hill.

By Public Transportation: We are near the Port Jefferson Station
of the Long Island Railroad. Taxis are available to bring you to the Friary.
The Port Jefferson-Bridgeport Ferry is also nearby with a short taxi ride
to the Friary.
Making Arrangements
Little
Portion is open to guests Tuesday through Sunday. Individuals are welcome
during the week and on weekends as space allows. Group retreats can be
scheduled during the week or on weekends. The Friary is closed to guests
on Mondays. A non-refundable deposit is required to reserve facilities.

Friary Facilities
Guests are welcomed to book the following facilities:
Friary Conference Room, accommodating 30-35 comfortably.
The Guest House, with meeting space and sleeping facilities
for 16 people.
Clare House, with informal seating for 8 people, up to
25 can be accommodated lecture style in the Clare Chapel.
Friary Library, accommodating 8 people.
